Masoor Daal Nayab



Masala TV recipe of Masoor Daal Nayab by Shireen Anwar from Masala Mornings. This mouth-watering "Main Course" recipe for Masoor Daal Nayab can be prepared in 30 minutes and serves 2-3 people.

Recipe Ingredients

250 gm Whole Black lentils
1/2 cup Tamarind pulp 
2 tbsp Sanbhar Masala 
2 tbsp Jaggery 
1 tsp Crushed black pepper 
1 tsp Crushed red pepper 
1/4 cup Oil 
1 tsp Salt 
1 tbsp Sesame seeds 
1/2 tsp heaped Fenugreek seeds 
1 tsp Mustard seeds


Recipe Method

 
Cook ½ cup tamarind
pulp, 2 tbsp Sanbar Masala and 2 tbsp jaggery until it becomes thick, dry roast
1 tbsp sesame seeds, ½ tsp fenugreek seeds, 1 tsp crushed black pepper, 1 tsp
crushed red pepper and grind together, cook lentil with 2 cups of water till
tender, heat ¼ cup oil in a pan, add 1 tsp mustard seeds with the tamarind
mixture, 1 tsp salt and the cook lentil mixture, cook for 10 minutes, garnish
with coriander leaves and green chilies.
